| Title | Classification and epidemiology of syncope |
| Shownotes | Syncope facts: more than 500,000 new patients per year in the U.S. alone. In almost 10% of patients, syncope has a cardiac cause, in 50% it has a non cardiac cause and in 40% of patients the cause of syncope is unknown. Tilt table testing does not predict the mechanism of syncope recurrence. Syncope is often difficult to diagnose, yet the consequences can be serious. |
